Grandmother’s Flower Garden

Grandmother's Flower Garden

There’s nothing old-fashioned about this necklace, yet with its soft and feminine appeal, you could imagine it on your old-fashioned grandmother, crouched in her flower garden, her silver hair backlit by the sun, cutting beautiful, fragrant posies to fill the kitchen with cheer. And then you sit together eating cookies and you notice how this floral and cheery necklace brings out the sparkle in her eyes, and you think, “Gee, I hope I can have that necklace someday.” She catches your eye and reads your mind, “Honey, if you want this necklace you’ll have to buy it online.”

Look closely. These are not just beautiful beads on a wire. This is a one-of-a-kind design. When I make pieces like these, with Swarovski crystals as the main event, I chose the colors and textures carefully and combine them to create a mood. I use a variety of metals and natural gemstones to build the excitement in a piece. I see too many uninspired pieces where the patterns are symmetrical and the colors are limited and the design falls flat. I really work with my eye to create a pleasing blend of textures and tones. I hope you have as much fun wearing this piece as I had creating it.
