Gem of the Sea

Gem of the Sea

Don’t let the simplicity of this design fool you—sometimes the simpler the design, the nicer it stands out. This is one super sweet pearl with a glorious glow! It deserves a solitary place of its own. Finished with knotted leather ends to complement the elegant pearl this is an earthy-chic piece you can wear with so many things. The colors you wear will nicely pick up the colors in the pearl’s shimmering rainbow palette. It looks smashing with a white blouse, too. The luster of this pearl is rich and the nacre is thick, as evidenced by its high iridescence and ripples of satiny smooth skin. This is from an old, high-grade stash. Get one while I’ve got ‘em! New trends and techniques make the old stock more rare.

I wore an elegant strand of antique pearls for my wedding. I don’t think anything else can hold a candle to pearl wedding jewelry. But I also wear pearls with distressed jeans. How is it that one gem is befitting to both trash and treasure? I wanted to create a piece that could work with anyone’s wardrobe, and I feel like I’ve hit a home run with this one.

Made with: White, shimmering freshwater coin pearl; sterling silver wire; antique brown matte leather cord anchored to the Sterling silver lobster clasp by sturdy and stylish seafaring knots, aye, matey.

Size: ~15.5 inches; longer length available upon request.
